Corporate & Community Volunteer Opportunities: Employer Sign-Up

Help Walton Career Services in our mission to advance students' career readiness, and benefit from the additional employer brand recognition and connections to students that your time commitment brings.

Volunteer Opportunity Descriptions:

Resume Rescue: We will host a resume review sessions with students in-person on campus. You will be able to set your own individual resume review schedule, and students will be able to drop and chat with you about ways to improve their resume. If you’re interested, please sign up to receive more information as it becomes available.

Pitched Perfect: Much like “Speed Networking,” students will present their pitch to an employer representative, and then receive feedback before rotating to the next employer table. Students have the opportunity to train with the Business Communications Lab at a workshop in advance of the pitch delivery event.  Learning objectives: increase student self-confidence, introduce students to the skill of professional communication, eliminate anxiety and increase preparedness for the student, teach the student to identify their most valuable skills and define their personal brand.

Internship Poster Conference: Many of our Walton students participate in an Internship Credit course (WCOB 310V or WCOB 320V) to earn academic credit for working within their field of student. Their final project in the course is to create a conference-style poster about their experience and present it at the Internship Poster Conference. We are looking for judges to assess specific criteria on the posters and assist us with defining winners in each category. You may select one or both evenings to attend, or to review some recorded presentations that students will submit virtually in advance of the sessions.
